get them to quote door-to-door rather than FOB then all your shipping costs are built in.
the only problem we have with our chinese supplies is they expect their bills paid 15 days from invoice.I am based in the UK and want to buy electronics from Chinese manufacturer, can you give me any buying advice?
totally down to weight, and we get ours delivered door to door, so DHL bring it to us and sort out all the customs stuff and vat stuff and we just pay them the VAT.

You will find the price of stock from China is lower but you also need to be careful with your freight costs. Before agreeing to let them charge you to ship stuff across, check with a few freight companies yourself to see if you can get a better deal.
You'll find that you'll probably be dealing with them in US Dollars. I don't know how much buying power you'll have first time around but it's worth a try, you will never know if you don't and it's possible to make enquiries and find out how much it would be without actually buying.
You can try this site.

there will aslo be tax added on when it reaches the uk.
They don't usually haggle with prices unless your buying a very large order eg 2000 dvd players and shipping can be quite expensive as you usually have to buy space on a container or a full container which is shipped over from china and usually you are expected to arrange for the transport from the docks to your business yourself.
some do send via normal couriers with smaller orders but also beware there may be people trying to scam you on these type of sites so always research the company you want to buy from first.
I do pretty much the same thing as you (www.tunalick.com) the best place to make contact with manafacturers in China is www.made-in-china.com you can leave a message explaining exactly what you are searching for, and people will contact you. Only ever pay via your Visa or Mastercard, avoid western union. Shipping takes around 21 days, items from China are excellent. I currently buy ipod nano's for 拢32 each by purchasing just 30 at a time.
Try going to the Hong Kong Electronics Trade fair which will have exhibitors from all over China all under one roof.
It takes place 14 17 April 2007.
If your business is well off stay at the Peninsula Hotel, less well off the Kimberley, looking to cut costs and still have reasonable accommodation the Rasmussen
