I'm seriously considering going into nursing (UK) any advice please?

I'm 47 though and think it is too late. Could anyone advise me on whether I have a chance, (I've had no experience though have a studied anatomy and physiology) didn't work enough at school and now ready to knuckle down and do this, not interested in the money. Interested to know about types of shifts I would be required to do. Thanks for any constructive advice.I'm seriously considering going into nursing (UK) any advice please?
It is definitely not too late. In fact many courses prefer people with life experience.

Shifts vary from place to place. Practice %26amp; district nurses (not newly qualified!) work core 8-4 shifts but with on-call, wekeend %26amp; evening opportunties. Ward nurses work either 12/13 hour shifts (including nights), early/back shift system or core shifts (not as common unless charge nurse)

Clinic nurses %26amp; school nurses are 8-4 type shifts also.

Bank shifts are available to suit your own needs.

Go for it %26amp; good luck!I'm seriously considering going into nursing (UK) any advice please?
personally, I think its never too late. Give it a try. At least you'll know.

However, shifts would depend on whether you worked in a hospital or a doc's office. I believe nurses work extremely long hours, on rotating shifts.
