Newly single mum needs some advice (Uk)?

I've recently split up with my long term partner. We have a daughter who is 15months old. I work 16hours a week as a secretary and currently living with my parents after moving out of mine and my ex's home. I was just wondering if i moved out would i be entitled to any help? Im not claiming anything at the moment and just living off the money from work. Would anyone be able to tell me if i could get any help and what it would be? Im pretty worried about all of this as ive never had to do this! Advice please :)Newly single mum needs some advice (Uk)?
You poor thing! Trying to find your way around the benefits system is a huge pain in the backside. Im no expert but i definatly thing you can claim child benefit which is something like 拢18.00 a week. I know you would be entitled to help with housing and council tax costs should you move out on your own. I'm not sure what else you may be entitled to because you are working but i am almost 100% sure you should be entitled to child tax credits and either working tax credits or income support. You can access a tax credit calculator via www.direct.gov.uk where you can also gather some information on what else you may be entitled to.

The best of luck to you and i hope it all works out well. Please dont be put off by arsey benefit agency staff or the weeks and weeks of waiting! Newly single mum needs some advice (Uk)?

sorry to hear about the break up! hope you can sort things out

you will be entitlied to more help and benefits but im not 100% sure of what im sorry! You need to telephone Inland Revenue and explain your situation, they will tell you over the phone what help you can get!

all the best xx
you will be entitled to Child tax credit and Working tax credit. If you are only working 16 Hours and on a low income, you will be entitled to some Council Tax and Housing Benefit too. Get a form from your local council and phone the tax credits hotline up straight away.
the best thing do is to go to the job centre and arrange an interview with an advisor there, they will be able to tell you exactly what you are entitled to. a friend of mine is in a similar position to you and she gets the following help: all of her rent paid on a private flat, working tax credit to top up her wages, child tax credits for her daughter. you will probably also be entitled to money to help with childcare whilst you are at work. don't be too worried about it, there is plenty of help and support for single mothers who are working. if you do choose to rent a place on your own, you would also have a substantial amount of your council tax paid too. xxx ps i think you can apply online for some of these benefits.
