Advice on what car to buy in the UK?

I about to buy my first car and have approx 拢2000 to spend. Whats the best car for reliability and safety given that its going to be a few years old?Advice on what car to buy in the UK?
I would go for a home grown car like a ford or vauxhall. Simply these cars are extremely popular. Parts are cheap and easy to come by. Usual are cheaper to run and insure. I've had renaults and nissans which aren't cheap. You need to do some homework on what car you want.





I recommend you look at Topgears website and Womens Lifestyle Magazine has great advice for women buying second hand cars.
