have you thought of somewhere like Center Parcs ... they have things for all age groups and all abilities and I'm told they're disability-friendly

have you thought of hiring a mobility scooter, either to take with you, or at the destination you choose ... quite often there are places that will hire them for a week or so ... this would enable the adult with mobility problems to be more independent and able to join in with the rest of the family more easily

yes Cornwall is great and as long as you choose a suitable location where there's lots of water activities ... I love St Ives with its V+A museum, surfing, etc ... however Cornwall is not the flattest of counties

north Wales is beautiful too ... Rhyl, Llandudno etc ... as long as you have a car there's some lovely scenery to explore as well as the trip up Snowdon on the railway (I think the train takes wheelchairs if you book in advance) and the tree tops adventure http://www.ttadventure.co.uk/ for adrenalin-junkie kids

or how about north Norfolk ... miles of beaches if the kids will amuse themselves there ... seal trips http://www.beansboattrips.co.uk/ or if you want to exhaust the kids make them walk out along Blakeney point instead http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-b鈥?/a> ... Langham Glass factory ... Holkham beach is especially lovelyHoliday advice in the uk for mixed age group?
Cornwall is a good choice as most of the beach resorts have water sports...also good amount of hip young people who love surfing etc. And also Cornwall is stunning with pleasant shops and cafe's. Newquay is a VERY young resort,,,so not suitable really for the older people...but Padstow is lovely for all.
Perhaps you would consider the Isle of Wight.

Most places by the coast tend to be rather hilly simply because land has to rise out of the sea.

We rather like Great Yarmouth area
