Benefits in the UK Advice?

Hi. My wife is from Iran and her family is due to come over to the UK next week. Her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters will be joining us. The children are all under 18. What kind of benefits can they expect under the current British system? What is the best way to maximise the benefits availible to them? My wife's father has a kidney problem so we are hoping that this will result in sick beneifts. How long will they have to wait before they are given a house?Benefits in the UK Advice?
This is what angers most Americans. Go to a country and immediately ask about benefits. (I realize that the person posting is talking about the UK)

AND THE GUY WANTS A HOUSE TO BOOT!!!!Benefits in the UK Advice?
You have GOT to be kidding.

Do you want a car and have all your meals delivered also?
Guys, don't you think this might be a wind-up?

In almost any circumstances, it would not be possible for such a family to come to UK, or to receive any kind of support. Specifically, the spouse visa would be refused if you cannot show that you can support and accommodate without recourse to public funds. Brothers and sisters of a spouse have no entitlement to come, unless exceptionally they are dependent children (far-fetched).

Those accepted as refugees have a right to family reunion - but the UK hardly accepts any refugees from Iran.

If the questioner would like to give more details about his and the family's status, I could give an answer.

EDIT

You now claim they are coming next week to ask for asylum; but they have no visa ';yet';. So how are they coming here? No airline will take them without visa, as the airline will be held responsible. And what is the violence exactly that they are fleeing? There is no war in Iran.

I'm afraid I don't believe you!
