Accountancy - uk any advice or tips?

My husband is thinking of becming an accountant. He already has a degree in it but has decided to change careers. There seem to be 3 professional bodies in the uk The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). And The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). Which is the best? Any advice? Can u switch from public to private sector work? Which is the best wages, etc?Accountancy - uk any advice or tips?
ACA is more highly regarded in the UK, however ACCA is the same apart from this. ACCA is more recognised internationally, as it is the largest body in the world, but ACA is also highly regarded as its from the UK. It will take 3 years to be qualified at least, depending on passing the exams. Wages are similar across all. The difference lies in working in practice, ie with other accountants, or working in industry ie be the accountant in a company. The latter is likely to be better pay, but the former is preferable when training i would say.Accountancy - uk any advice or tips?
There are more than stated above, (ICAS) Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland and (ICAEW) Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

I am ACCA qualified. All the bodies are pretty much the same except CIPFA is purely public sector oriented.

It is pretty easy to jump between public sector and private sector. Wages are anything from 拢15K whilst training to over 拢50K once qualified.

Even though your husband has a degree, it will still take him 3 years to qualify. This is the same for every accountancy body. He will sit between 12 and 15 exams. He will also have to gain 3 years accountancy work experience, this is normally done a long-side the exams otherwise it could take 6 years to complete.

Its hard work but worth it in the end.
